Due to changes in Etsy’s third-party integration policies, FinerWorks has had to adjust how it interacts with Etsy.   Etsy now limits the customer and shipping information that third-party applications can access, making it difficult for outside fulfillment companies to retrieve the details needed to fulfill and ship your orders. As a result, FinerWorks created a workaround that allows us to retrieve the necessary order information.

To continue automating your Etsy order fulfillment with FinerWorks as much as possible, you’ll need to connect your Etsy shop through GoShippo, an Etsy-approved shipping platform.

Before You Begin

You’ll need:

  • An active Etsy shop.
  • A GoShippo account connected to your Etsy shop.
  • Your GoShippo API Key.
  • The FinerWorks Order Fulfillment App.

Step 1 – Connect Etsy to GoShippo

  1. Sign in to your GoShippo account.
  2. From the GoShippo dashboard, navigate to Connections or Carriers & Stores (depending on the current interface).
  3. Choose Etsy from the list of available store integrations.
  4. Click Connect.
  5. Sign in to your Etsy account and authorize GoShippo to access your shop.
  6. After authorization, your Etsy shop will appear as a connected store within GoShippo.

At this point, GoShippo will be able to retrieve your Etsy orders.

Step 2 – Obtain Your GoShippo API Key

FinerWorks uses your GoShippo API Key to securely retrieve your Etsy orders.

To locate your API Key:

  1. Sign in to your GoShippo account.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select API (or API Keys, depending on your account interface).
  4. Copy your Live API Token.

Important: Use your Live API Token. Test tokens cannot retrieve your production Etsy orders.

Keep your API Key private. It provides access to your GoShippo account and should never be shared with anyone other than trusted applications such as FinerWorks.

Step 3 – Connect GoShippo to FinerWorks

  1. Open the FinerWorks Order Fulfillment App.
  2. Navigate to the Etsy connection within the dashboard.
  3. Paste your GoShippo Live API Key into the API Key field.
  4. Save your settings.
  5. Verify the connection.

Once connected, FinerWorks will retrieve your Etsy orders through GoShippo, allowing them to be processed for printing and fulfillment.

We’re continuing to improve the FinerWorks Order Fulfillment App. In a future release, we hope the Etsy integration will become smoother within the application, making setup and management even easier.
