What a journey 2025 has been! As we look back on a year of incredible art and partnership, we hope it was a fantastic year for you, too. While there has been some uncertainty in the fine art markets, we are starting to see those silver linings appear, and we expect the outlook to get even brighter throughout 2026. Below, we discuss the areas that directly affect our users, from new tools and strategic price adjustments to the exciting market changes we see on the horizon.
We are hitting the ground running with major upgrades designed to make your creative business smoother, faster, and more profitable than ever.
New Tech: Powering Your Fulfillment
In 2025, we successfully launched our new Order Fulfillment App along with our first WooCommerce Plugin and Order Fulfillment App module. We are now thrilled to announce that an all-new and sleek order fulfillment app for the Shopify Platform is arriving in the coming weeks!
Early previews and walkthroughs with our development team show incredible promise in functionality, reliability, and ease of use. While the launch has taken longer than originally expected, this is by design: unlike previous versions, we have chosen not to rush this until it is fully ready for you. As with any new application, there is always the potential for bugs that might not be initially identified by developers; therefore, we will be watching it closely during the first month and relying on your valuable feedback.
Your Brand, Your Way: The New GeoGalleries
We are excited to announce a complete makeover for GeoGalleries, which we expect to go live within a week or two! This version focuses on empowering the artist by providing your own dedicated GeoGalleries site (e.g., yourusername.geogalleries.com). Whether you use it as a secondary shop or your primary standalone website, it is designed to be a powerful promotion and revenue-generating tool.
The Market Trend: Collectors in 2026 are moving away from massive “art warehouses” and toward personal connections. By offering custom subdomains, we ensure your brand (not the platform) is what collectors remember. While we will still maintain a public gallery to showcase works from all artists, your personal site becomes your primary tool for owning the customer relationship.
Investing in Quality & Speed
To continue providing the premium archival products you expect, we are making strategic adjustments to our pricing to keep pace with the current economic environment, including inflation and Tariffs. However, we are turning these adjustments into a direct benefit for our customers:
- Framing & Mats: We expect an 8% to 10% rate increase on frames, mats, and glazing. Even with this change, our rates remain much more competitive than typical framers using the same suppliers. To keep this increase as low as possible, we are stocking more inventory, which carries the added benefit of quicker turnaround times for your framed prints!
- Shipping: If you package and ship your artwork yourself, you have felt the impact of shipping price increases. This includes a sharp increase in supplies as well as year-to-year price hikes by all the major carriers (UPS, FedEx, and USPS). Over the past year and this year too, UPS and FEDEX have also gone surcharge crazy, charging an extra fee wherever they can. To finally account for this and a January 2026 rate increase, shipping rates will adjust by approximately 10% for small packages and a little more for larger. For example, a package that normally costs $10 to ship will see a modest increase of roughly $1.
- Negotiating for You: For items like Acrylics and Metal prints, we are currently in active negotiations with our suppliers to keep prices as close to current levels as possible.
The Market Trend: In an AI-saturated world, physical, framed works are more valuable than ever. Buyers are looking for fast gratification and premium quality. By increasing our inventory, we are helping you meet the 2026 demand for “The Return of the Physical” with industry-leading speed.
BIG News for Canvas Lovers
While some price increases were inevitable, we have some fantastic news: Canvas prints are becoming much more affordable! We are working to make Canvas available at a significantly lower price point in the very near future. Keep an eye out as we roll these options out.
To help consolidate our canvas production and pass those savings to you, we will likely be discontinuing Gloss Canvas soon due to low market interest. However, there is no immediate discussion on dropping any other media types. Additionally, we will now offer canvas without a backer as the standard; if you still prefer a backer, you can simply select that option when setting up your canvas.
The Market Trend: “Small works,” “mini-art,” and high-volume sales are dominating the 2026 mid-market. More affordable canvas allows you to enter this space aggressively. Furthermore, the “No-Backer” option supports the trend of sustainable and flexible art, giving you more control over production costs and shipping weights to maximize your margins.
The future of fine art is looking bright, and we are honored to be the engine behind your creativity. We can’t wait to see what you create in 2026!
