We just launched a new feature at FinerWorks which allows anyone to take advantage of a vast library of stock imagery. It is called, for lack of originality now, Find Print Art. We partnered with Shutterstock, one of the leading providers of stock imagery and have integrated a section on the FinerWorks website that allows anyone to search and find images for just about any topic and theme you can imagine.
You won’t need any special account to access these images and the cost for any prints is the same as if you had printed your own file. We take care of all the licensing with Shutterstock and they compensate the contributing artists or photographers.
If you are inclined in utilizing images any of the images you find, you won’t have to download. It’s as simple as clicking the image you want and adding it to your library of uploads. We have also started creating topic driven collections based upon statistical data on what people are searching for and already starting to add to their files and ordering as prints.
The way it works is you browse or search for images you want. Add any to your image files and order yourself a customized print or print product. This could be canvas, metal or framed and on one of our fabulous fine art papers.
We try to pull the most relevant images that we think will look good in print the most first but since we are linked to Shutterstock you will see some images that do not really shout out “print me” or make sense for any décor.
You may wonder why does FinerWorks need to provide images for printing when FinerWorks users, most of whom are artists and photographers, upload their own images. While this is true about most of our users with a broad range of skills and experience, we also serve people who are not. Some of these work in the décor field while others are looking to decorate a new home or office space. When Shutterstock contacted us to explore setting up a unique licensing arrangement, we felt that this provided the solution many of these people were looking for.
