Are C-prints on the Same Path as Film?

In many cases, the giclee print (an inkjet style print) has become the new standard and I wonder about the viability of the C-print long term. Artists have quickly embraced inkjet technology and over the past decade photography has seen a major shift toward from C-prints inkjet. Quick Paper Advice for Photographers

Printing is generally the same thing in the age of digital prints no matter if it is artwork or photographs. It all comes down to image pixels being turned into an image which is printed on a surface, usually paper. The properties of the paper are where many photographers, especially newer ones, have questions if they want something that best shows their work. To help them choose I ask photographers to look at three main characteristics of a paper which have an effect on how their image is printed.

Kodak Prints Now Shipping from Our Headquarters in San Antonio, TX

Over the summer our Kodak prints have garnered more and more attention by users at FinerWorks. This has led us to make some big changes from a new bulk ordering system as well as moving the production location. The bulk ordering tool for Kodak prints was implemented last month in July 2018 and this final week in August we made the strategic move to bring the Kodak print production home to San Antonio.  Now all Kodak prints are shipped from our main production facility. These changes came about as a result of several things.
