New Tube Based Shipping Option Added

If you prefer your prints to be shipped in a tube rather than flat, we have added some tube based shipping options in the shipping drop down at checkout to be available for some types of orders, primarily prints on our fine art papers. These will show up with the regular shipping options at checkout but say “tube” in the shipping method name.

Metal Prints Large Sizes Available

Most photographers I know are quite familiar with aluminum metal prints. These are a product that really began to gain popularity within the past 5 to 10 years. While they continue to remain popular with photography we are starting to see more interest by artists looking for an exciting alternative. If you are not a photographer, depending on your style of work, you may or may not find them suited for you or your print buyers.

Integration Apps for FinerWorks Order Fulfillment

How about an App for that? That is the question we get as it pertains to having us drop ship prints for people. If you are new to FinerWorks,  drop shipping is another way we describe blind shipping which simply means we keep ourselves unknown and the order looks like you shipped it to your customers. The percentage of orders we process as drop shipped orders at FinerWorks is well over 50% now. Some have us fulfill orders via our website while others placing very big orders go through our offline channels. Well the good news if you are selling your prints online through your own website you might be able to take advantage of some new methods telling us where to send your orders that will make things easier so that you do not have to go through the process of placing individual orders each time. You would actually be able to transmit a bunch of orders with just a few clicks. At the moment there is only one way to do this however we will begin launching some official alternatives in the form of apps in which we have been working over the past several weeks to bring to you.

Printing Custom Sizes

In the world of art, I always find this one of the most exciting times because with the hustle of the Holiday season behind us it gives me an opportunity to explore new ideas. As an artist, I used to make it a point to slow down and use this time of year to look for new inspiration and or evaluate if what I had been doing was what I wanted to do and/or accomplish the goals I was after. Now days I place a lot of this energy into considering how we can better serve our customers. This includes improvements in product manufacturing, order processing workflow and even new shipping options. I also plan to stress more our ability to offer custom sizes print options.

Print Frame and Mat Your Artwork or Photography

FinerWorks got its start as a company that produced canvas prints. While we still do a lot of canvas prints, we have evolved into a fine art color lab which now primarily produces art and photo prints on various fine art papers. Ever since we started to do more than just canvas, I have always recognized the importance of a good frame for artwork and photography. A frame not only enhances the appearance but also provides a sense of value to what some might see as merely a print. As artists if we are either providing the print to someone or even ourselves we want that final piece to have a sense of value. Thus, over the past couple months, we have been working diligently to develop our framing center both online and at our printing facility in San Antonio, TX. We still have a lot of work ahead of us but are excited to announce that we have started to offer some new and sleek framing options called the Gallery One collection in addition to the more weathered look of our Standout Frames collection. We also added the option to order matting and place your work behind glass (clear acrylic) for the new collection. In the days and weeks to come we plan to add a wider range of frame molding styles which includes floater frames for stretched and mounted canvas.

A Speedier Checkout Process when Ordering Prints

It’s about time! That was the statement a frequent user and artist said to us the other day when he placed an order on our new shopping cart and checkout page. A few weeks ago, we unveiled the new checkout process in a test mode for customers using our exclusive photos on canvas website service. Since then we have been slowly making it available to everyone at FinerWorks. Finally, last week it was fully implemented for all. Our goal was to setup the shopping cart and checkout experience so that it would be a much faster and a more hassle free process. This stemmed from what we felt was too long of a time it would take a person to complete the ordering process. So, based on valued feedback from a number of our regular users we came up with a formula we think made things easier for those using the FinerWorks website.
