No. Instead, a process called dye sublimation is used. This turns the inks to a gaseous state that can fuse to specially coated items like the aluminum panels we use for the Chromalux Metal Prints.
No. Prepare your file just like you would for any of our prints. We do recommend your file be at least 150 to 300 pixels per inch (ppi) for optimal results.
Use any non-abrasive cloth or paper towel along with a non-ammonia-based cleaner or water for best results.
The coating on the metal is like an enamel in which the image fuses. This is quite durable; therefore, the image itself is not too likely to become scratched unless a hard or sharp object comes in contact with it. It still is wise to treat it with care.
Yes. You can order from a wide range of frame styles; however, in order to do this, you will need to order the “panel only” style to open the frame options. This will allow you to choose the frame you want. In additional, there are some framed styles readily available when ordering.
We have built in volume & bulk discounts that will cover most scenarios; however, if the scope and size of the order is not listed when checking pricing, please contact us with the details of what you want to order and the time frame so that we can work out the fulfillment and pricing of the order.
Most people order online via our website’s Print Online Setup Tool. Using this method, you will upload your image file(s), select the product type, styles, and size of print you want, then add the item to your shopping cart.
Some businesses that use us may have their websites connected to us, either through our Order Fulfillment App or one of our legacy integrations, which allow for batch order submissions.
FinerWorks is unable to accept orders by phone or email.
The key difference is how they are produced and the material the image is printed on. Dibond prints have the image printed directly to the surface using large UV-Flatbed printers, while HD Metal Prints use a dye-sublimation approach. Dibond prints are great for general graphics and are more versatile in where they can be displayed, while HD Metal Prints are more likely to be used to print photos and fine art.
More detailed information on how they differ can be found in our blog:
Nope! You can order just one or as many as you need. Whether you’re creating a custom gift, testing a new design, or fulfilling an order for your online store, we’ve got you covered.
However, you can likely save when ordering in bulk since many of our products have built in volume discounts.

Print your artwork or photography as custom-size metal prints. Using the dye-sublimation process, your image is fused to the surface of rigid aluminum panels. These provide a modern look when decorating your home or office. Choose from multiple metal surface options. Order it framed, with a float wall mounting or even with a tabletop easel back.
